Publications

The work of Math Trails Lab is grounded in a strong research tradition in mathematics, STEM, and STEAM education. Our publications document the development of math trails, the integration of digital technologies such as augmented and virtual reality, robotics, 3D printing, and artificial intelligence, as well as innovative approaches to mathematical modelling, computational thinking, and project-based learning.

Through journal articles, book chapters, and conference papers, our team and collaborators explore how technology-rich learning environments, such as VR STEM trails, AR-supported math trails, RoboSTEM activities, and landmark-based STEAM projects, can enhance students’ creativity, problem-solving skills, mathematical literacy, and 21st-century competencies. This body of work also reflects our international collaborations and contributions to global discussions on outdoor STEM education, teacher beliefs, and the implementation of STE(A)M education in diverse contexts.

The following list highlights some of our key publications in these areas.
